Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 have released a ton of new announcements and trailers for upcoming games and partnerships that gamers are looking forward to. With the Xbox set to be one of the main showcase destinations over the next 12 months, gamers can expect most of the games featured to be released by 2023. Along with the new games, there have also been some major announcements, such as a new partnership between Riot Games and Microsoft, which will see the addition of several Riot Games products to Xbox Game Pass. While there have been plenty of new IPs and indie titles introduced, these are undoubtedly some of the biggest names that will delight fans the most – and there have been quite a few!

Biggest upcoming games announced at Xbox-Bethesda Games Showcase

The full 90-minute demo gave us gameplay footage from over 30 games and gave us a glimpse of what the future holds for Xbox. From blockbuster hits like Overwatch 2 to new indie titles like Cocoon, there’s something for everyone. Now that the demo is complete, we can look back at some of the most exciting moments from the event. Redfall is an upcoming open-world co-op game with many action-adventure elements. In this new FPS RPG, players take on the role of one of four survivors from the fictional town of Redfall, Massachusetts as they try to fight off hordes of vampires. The gameplay footage featured in the showcase speaks volumes of self-confidence, with an intriguing storyline and many different types of enemies. Redfall will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC and is expected to release in the first half of 2023.

Hollow Knight: Silk Song

The long-awaited sequel to Hollow Knight: Silksong from the creators of the legendary Metroidvania Hollow Knight. While Silksong is meant to be a sequel, the player will follow the story of a different protagonist in a different world. We play as Hornet, who first appeared in Hollow Knight as one of the first boss encounters. Moss-covered caves, coral forests, cities of gold, challenging gameplay and a further development of the classic charm of the Hollow Knight series await players. There is no official release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong, but players can expect it to release soon. It will be available on Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Diablo 4

With the release of Diablo Immortal still fresh in the rearview mirror, Diablo fans got even more gore-filled dungeons with the announcement of Diablo 4. Hot on the heels of Diablo Immortal, which has come under fire for heavy monetization tactics. implemented in the game, Diablo 4 takes on a lot. However, Diablo 4 is confirmed to be a paid game with paid content for cosmetics and add-ons. The gameplay footage presented in the showcase showed literally waves of blood, hordes of monsters, deep character customization, and an open world. Diablo 4 will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 and is expected in 2023.

Minecraft legends

Minecraft is one of the most popular games in the world with hundreds of millions of active players. So when Mojang, the developers of the critically acclaimed voxel game, announced a spin-off strategy game based on the world of Minecraft, it caused a huge buzz among die-hard Minecraft fans. In this strategy game, players must fight alongside villagers, creepers, and zombies to repel an invading hoglin. The story feels like a prequel that could potentially answer the burning question of why there are so many collapsing portals in the Overworld and why the Hoglins despise the player. Minecraft Legends will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It is expected to go on sale in 2023. However, an official release date has yet to be announced.

Forza Motorsport

The long-awaited racing simulation game from Turn10 Studios has finally made its big debut at the Xbox-Bethesda Games Showcase with a preview of stunning gameplay in full 4K resolution. Featuring rich graphics with ray tracing support, new damage models, dynamic weather changes and huge improvements in physics simulation accuracy, the new Forza Motorsport is set to take the franchise by storm. Forza Motorsport will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Its release is scheduled for spring 2023.

One of the showcase’s longest gameplay demos was for one of Starfield’s most announced games. This open-world space exploration game from Bethesda takes place in the year 2330, when human civilization has expanded into a territory called Settled Systems. The game promises to explore over 100 star systems with over 1000 planets to explore. The gameplay demo included base building, alien wildlife, first-person shooter elements, and even starships that players can customize, upgrade, and pilot. Starfield is scheduled to release in the first half of 2023 and will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
