Pacific 2022 Minigames: Monday June 20th Recap

With their first medals in triathlon, va’a and weightlifting, Cagous were busy at the start of the week. Find a roundup of the Pacific mini-games in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands on Monday, June 20th.



Gold from the first day you enter the Saipan mini-games in the Northern Mariana Islands. Kagu rowers made an impression this Monday at Lake 13e Rybak UTT. Albert Menge won the V1 race and Cagous also won the V12 race. Outstanding performance.


The Caledonians won two gold medals in waa this Monday, January 20th, in Saipan.

Triathletes from New Caledonia did not disappoint this morning on the island of Rota, not far from Saipan. Caledonian Manon Brasseur won the silver medal and Charlotte Robin the bronze. Among men, silver was taken by Mathieu Salamacha, and bronze by Patrick Vernet.

She is the first Caledonian to compete in the discipline and was stressed out before entering it, but Presilla Piotrowski didn’t deserve it this Monday in Saipan. She won three silver medals in the 55 kg category.

In total, at the end of the day, Caledonia won 9 medals, including 2 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze. She is ranked 6the place, behind Polynesia and the Solomon Islands. Papua New Guinea is number one.

First day on the field for Cagous in badminton and they did it. This morning the Caledonian players won against Wallis and Futuna and this afternoon against the Northern Mariana Islands.

  • Against Wallis and Futuna the first match was won on 21/17 – 21/11. Lucas Juyo loses in 3 sets but Marin Suvia beats Wallis 21/5 – 21/8. The Caledonians also won in the men’s doubles, 21/16 – 21/13.
  • Against the Northern Mariana Islands, Kagu is also winning. They won the first game 21/17 – 21/13. Marin Naveros also won the women’s singles, 21/9 – 21/11. The same goes for the men’s singles at Carl N’Guela from 21/13 to 21/05. In the men’s doubles, Cagus wins with a score of 21-05/2-12. And in the women’s doubles 21.13 – 21.07.
Mini Games 2022: Badminton, North Carolina

On Monday, the New Caledonia badminton team met with the team of Wallis-i-Futuna and the Northern Mariana Islands.

Finally, in tennis, Luam Boivin showed a very good performance, but lost to professional tennis player Marianne Colin Sinclair. Final score: 6/0 – 6/2.

The remaining three tennis players, on the contrary, won on the courts of the American Memorial Park. Victor Lopez won his match 6/1-6/0, Rafael Bonnet de Laborgne 6/2-2/0 and Iham Tijin 6/0-3/0.

Finally, regarding beach volleyball, the Cagus bowed to the Vanuatuans for their first meeting. Final score: 18/21-17/21.

From tomorrow, 8 disciplines will be presented, including 7 that relate to Cagous. Athletics enters the race, and it’s the same with golf. Matches continue in badminton, beach volleyball, tennis, triathlon, weightlifting and waa.
