2022 Pacific Mini Games Officially Open

Athletes from New Caledonia walked down the Oleai Stadium with undeniable pleasure this Friday, June 17, at the opening ceremony of the eleventh Pacific Mini Games in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. Athletes from 20 participating states and territories marched with their flags. Colorful event.

Flags galore and smiles lit up Oleai Stadium in Saipan yesterday, Friday, June 17th. The opening ceremony of the Pacific Mini-Games brought together about 1,000 participants and 400 employees to participate in this eleventh edition.

The ball was opened first by Vanuatu, which hosted the tenth edition of the Mini Games in 2017. This year, 30 Vanuatu athletes are participating in 5 of the 9 events planned.

Another noteworthy passage is the Guam delegation and its 100 athletes. One of them put on a show with his umbrella in the colors of Guam.

And if there were many delegations, then there were fewer others. As in Micronesia and its ten athletes. They are engaged in 2 disciplines: tennis and athletics.

And then our Cagus had a wonderful visit with chap prepared upstream in the gardens of the Games village. An interrupted moment, imbued with special emotions, given by our athletes who bring their title back to the game and wore black armbands in honor of Charles Cali, former president of CTOS, and Roger Kaddour, a pillar of New Caledonian sport who died last year.

With their two athletes receiving flower wreaths, the Northfolk Islands also drew public sympathy.
